Charlotte Gainsbourg rips off Goldfrapp

I have nothing against Charlotte Gainsbourg’s acting but her music career just seems like it’s always been handed to her on a silver platter. It’s really too bad considering her pedigree: she could have taken more notes from her late father Serge Gainsbourg rather then her charismatic but clearly untalented mother Jane Birkin.

Here she delivers another album entitled “Stage Whisper” on which she collaborated with Beck - this time with the additional help of Connan Mockasin and Noah and the Whale. 11 live tracks and 7 new songs.

While I’m usually a huge fan of Beck regardless of whom he is playing music-beard for, this song - “Terrible Angels” - just sounds like a rip-off of Goldfrapp’s “Train”. The video makes me want to buy her jeans though. I’m pretty sure that’s how efficient product placement works.
